Abolishing economic, relational, and spiritual poverty through career and community development in Denver
About us
CrossPurpose offers a free 6-month career and community development program aiming to abolish spiritual, economic, and relational poverty in Denver and beyond. We recruit and select neighbors--called Leaders--who are ready to do whatever it takes to attain financial self-sufficiency. We then provide Leaders with personal and professional training, build a supportive community around each one, and help place the Leader in a career path that pays $22/hour or more.

This is the mentality that leads to 1,000 graduates 🎓 Join us tonight at our South Metro campus for a special graduation celebration from 6:00-8:00 pm! RSVP to attend: https://lnkd.in/dpZB8Rpd

Here's How: These graduates are mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, and neighbors. Their success extends beyond them and into their families. That’s why we calculate that for every graduate who enters a new career, 2.5 more people are lifted out of poverty as a by-product. Give today to support free career training for grads to come: https://lnkd.in/gMAW_54j

We were honored to host this group dedicated to growing and mobilizing Colorado's workforce!
Founder & CEO at Colorado Equitable Economic Mobility Initiative (CEEMI), and City Councilor elected to represent Lakewood’s Ward 3.
We're SO energized at the Colorado Equitable Economic Mobility Initiative (CEEMI), after our Colorado Workforce Convening on Friday, a timely deep dive conversation with Colorado's two U.S. Senators on how to strengthen our workforce development and job-training ecosystems. Big thanks to Charles E. D. at the Keystone Policy Center, for co-convening the discussion with us, and to CrossPurpose for doing a great job hosting, including Mkale Warner, Jason Janz, Cara Ward Hambrick & Josh Ryken + many other great team members. Thanks also to Gary Community Ventures and The Attainment Network for sponsoring. We heard directly from Senator Michael Bennet and Senator John Hickenlooper re their legislative workforce priorities. The Senators also heard directly from and met with a number of different learners and participants in the various programs represented. With Senator Hickenlooper sitting on the key Senate Committee expected to mark up the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) in the coming months - the first time in 10 years this key federal law is on track to be reauthorized! - this was especially timely. And we're also encouraged by Senator Bennet's Better Jobs through Evidence and Innovation Act, creating a new tiered evidence/innovation workforce fund, which we hope to see incorporated into the WIOA reauthorization. Our U.S. Senators heard from Mkale at CrossPurpose, Lee Wheeler-Berliner at Colorado Workforce Development Council, Tony Anderson at Denver Economic Development & Opportunity, Noel Ginsburg at CareerWise USA/CareerWise Colorado, Sarah Heath at Colorado Community College System, Jessica Valand at Results for America (previously oversaw CO's rural central mountain workforce region), Luis Antezana from Juntos Community, Kathryn Harris from ActivateWork, Becca Montgomery representing Reach University, Josh Blair from Kanso Software, Lauren Trent at AdvanceEDU, Iesha Mitchell with Invest in Kids, & Scott Flores from The Master's Apprentice Program. And big thank you to CEEMI rockstar team members Jessica Corvinus and Dave Anderson and CEEMI advisory board member Perla Bustillos Gutierrez who helped us pull this all off. At CEEMI, we continue to believe in the value of bringing key policymakers together with the innovators and participants of Colorado's workforce and postsecondary systems, in pursuit of meaningful reforms to measurably improve wage/employment outcomes for the learners they serve. This was a promising discussion with some encouraging takeaways and next steps. A few pictures below. Onward!

At CrossPurpose, we hear daily from executives like Chris Haugen and organizations like HCC - Hispanic Contractors of Colorado about the critical need for hardworking employees in the trades. Fortunately, the trades is one of our most popular skill tracks, graduating Leaders almost every month into the field and directly meeting the workforce needs of companies across the Denver Metro area. CrossPurpose is thrilled to spotlight our partnership with WCG Construction and Chris Haugen, a beacon of integrity, leadership, and equity in business. As a valued Employer Partner and investor, WCG Construction's generous support enables us to offer our career and personal development training entirely tuition-free, helping community members break free from generational poverty—while giving WCG a leg-up on access to great employees.
