SECOR could not do the work we do without our amazing volunteers. Larry and Cheryl volunteer each week to stock the shelves and shop with guests. In addition to the volunteer help, they also contribute to a culture of warmth and fun that makes SECOR a joyful place for our guests, volunteers, and staff. Join us in thanking Larry and Cheryl for both their tangible and intangible contributions to SECOR. They are more than deserving of this award and recognition!

About us
SECORCares is a 501c3 non-profit located in Parker, CO, but serving Arapahoe, Douglas and Elbert counties. Our mission is to help those struggling with suburban poverty. The loss of a job, divorce, mounting medical bills, underemployment-things that happen every day in our community–can devastate a once comfortable home and family, and thrust them into suburban poverty. SECORCares offers a free food market where our guests can "shop" for their families and select those foods that they enjoy. We also assist with financial assistance, legal aid, counseling, job search assistance and more, all with the goal of helping our guests get back to self-sufficiency again. Most importantly, we offer community, and help restore dignity and hope in their lives! As part of our outreach, we offer other programs as well to our community. o Food for Thought is our weekend backpack program where we partner with schools to provide bags of food to children on free or reduced lunch programs, or who are otherwise food insecure. o Our Mobile Market is just that, our market on wheels! Fresh fruits and veggies, meat, dairy and non-perishables can be driven to virtually any location and will feed ~100 families for 2 weeks. o Community of Hope is a program offered to our guests who would like some life coaching/life management assistance, including personal or financial counseling. How can you help? • Donations-both monetary and food are always in need. • Volunteer-in the market, the warehouse, driving, packing bags, Events, etc. • Events-participate with us at one of our events throughout the year and help us raise much needed funds. • Spread the Word-Please share who we are and what we do with everyone! The person standing in front of you may need SECOR’s help, but may be reluctant to tell you. By sharing our story, our mission, you could be the difference between their continued struggle and self-sufficiency. Speak up, even if they don’t!

SECOR could not do the work it does without the commitment of our amazing volunteers! Some of our volunteers have stepped up into leadership roles in both our market and warehouse. Our lead volunteers are responsible for onboarding new volunteers as well as overseeing much of the day-to-day operations. These people are the reason we can serve 3,000 families each week! #caringpeoplecaringforpeople

SECOR Cares will be closed on Thursday, March 14, due to the weather conditions forecasted, which include heavy snow. SECOR follows Douglas County School District's snow policy, so since Douglas County School District is closed, so is SECOR. For those of you who have appointments to shop on Thursday, March 14, you will be receiving an email shortly explaining your next steps to reschedule your appointment. If you have an appointment for Friday, March 15, we will update you once we know whether or not we will be open on Friday. Please email Debbie@secorcares.com with any questions. Thank you for your patience as we navigate springtime in Colorado! Stay safe and warm.

Thank you to AdventHealth Parker for sending a volunteer team to SECOR Cares this morning! They really got into their work sorting food donations, repackaging bulk food items, and helping guests in our market. A huge thank you to our local Dutch Bros Coffee locations for raising $3,897 for SECOR Cares during their #DutchLuv event last month! We are grateful for their support and commitment to giving back to our community!
Luv our friends at Dutch Bros! Our local 3 stores, ran by our friend Nick Dean, chose our very own SECOR Cares to be their annual fund raising recipient. They raised $3,897 with their Dutch Luv valentines drinks, giving $1 per drink. I truly do love the culture of the company, and the leadership of Nick and team. Thank you Dutch Bros Coffee!!

A huge thanks to this awesome team of 9 volunteers from Canvas Credit Union who helped us restock our Mobile Market truck on Friday! Thanks to your hard-working crew, we had the truck stocked with food for student shoppers today at the MSU campus. And another huge thank you to the team from Ent Credit Union who helped staff our Mobile Market at MSU today! With all of your support, we were able to provide groceries for hundreds of families who are experiencing food insecurity. Thank you so much! #secorcares #metropolitanstateuniversityofdenver #foodinsecurity #giveback #feedhope #volunteer

Everyone enjoyed the perfect weather and nutritious groceries at our mobile market at Community College of Aurora this week! We're excited to announce a new partnership with the COLORADO COUNCIL OF BLACK NURSES INC, who will be coming to all of our CCA-Center Tech campus mobile markets! They were on site this week to educate and enroll students in screenings for breast and cervical cancer. We are grateful for their partnership and important work in promoting women's health and wellness. The three lovely ladies with Beth (our Mobile Market Coordinator, at the far right) in the pictures are CCA staff who dedicate their time and energy to organize and coordinate the mobile markets for CCA students and families. Many thanks to both our ongoing and new partners for making a difference in our community each and every day!

So grateful for sponsors and partners like you!
We hit a big milestone and celebrated #20years of Stolfus & Associates! We enjoyed an evening at the Denver Botanic Gardens with people who have contributed to our success. Our anniversary wasn't just about looking back but #MovingForward, resulting in a food drive that collected 91 pounds of food and raised $5,400 for SECOR Cares. Thank you to everyone who has supported us along the way. Here's to continuing our journey of making communities safer!
